Surfshark Expands Dedicated IP Support to Linux GUI App

Surfshark, one of the world’s leading VPN providers, has announced that its Dedicated IP feature is now available directly inside its Linux GUI application, making it one of the few VPN services to offer this functionality natively on Linux.
Until now, Linux users could only access Surfshark’s Dedicated IP through a browser extension. With this update, the feature is now fully integrated into Surfshark’s Linux app, joining support already available on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Apple TV, and major browsers.

According to Justas Pukys, Senior Product Manager at Surfshark, the move is designed to give Linux users the same level of control and convenience as users on other platforms, allowing them to benefit from a stable, personal IP address directly inside the VPN application.
A Dedicated IP assigns a user their own static IP address instead of sharing one with thousands of others. This significantly reduces interruptions such as CAPTCHA challenges, account blocks, or verification loops on websites, which often occur when multiple people use the same shared IP. It also makes it easier to securely access online banking, work servers, and remote systems that require consistent IP identification.
Surfshark currently offers Dedicated IP locations in 20 global cities, including Warsaw, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Singapore, and Sydney, making it a practical option for both European and international users.

The feature works across all major VPN protocols, including WireGuard®, ensuring high speeds alongside a consistent IP address. While Dedicated IP is a paid add-on to any Surfshark plan, it can be activated easily from the user’s Surfshark account by selecting a preferred location.
With Linux now fully supported, Surfshark further strengthens its position as a VPN provider for power users, professionals, and privacy-focused customers who need both security and reliability.
